To gather research on the best direction for a portfolio I reach out to previous teachers to ask for their advice.
I have an interesting choice to make here as a portfolio doesn't tie you down to any client requirements.
As I do not have work experience in Product I wanted to show my skills in other ways and my capabilities.
One option is not better than the other - it depends on my own personal goals and timelines.
Option 1: Use your already familiar technologies to build a great portfolio and launch it as quickly as possible.
Option 2: Use the portfolio as an opportunity to explore new techniques that you want to learn.
Creating a mood board of potential directions is really important to shape the design of the website. It provides a clear design direction to follow throughout the development and building of a site.
In the design step of the process, I needed to turn my solution ideas into visual concepts so I could validate them with possible product managers or mentor to receive feedback.
